How Should Credit-Weighted Values Be Calculated?

Equal semester weight CGPA = Σ SGPA ÷ Number of Semesters

Use this only when every entered semester contributes equally.

Different semester credits CGPA = Σ (SGPA × Credits) ÷ Σ Credits

Use this when semester credit totals differ or the governing rules require weighting.

Important: Use semester-level credits, not an unrelated cumulative credit value, and include only credits eligible under your programme rules.

Credit-Weighted Worked Example

Suppose four eligible semesters have values of 8.0, 7.5, 8.5 and 9.0. If they are equally weighted, the cumulative estimate is:

8.0+7.5+8.5+9.0÷ 4= 8.25
